Bill Connel is an Army veteran with 19 years of service with Active Army, Army Reserves and Oklahoma National Guard. Bill is medically retired from the military service. He served as a Combat Engineer (88M 8 62E) in Desert Shield/Desert Storm and Traffic Management Coordinator (88N30) in Operation Enduring Freedom. He currently has two sons serving in the Anny. His oldest son was (13F) SFC (E7) accepted into the Warrant Officer Aviation program. He now pilots the AH-64D Apache helicopter. His other is an 11B in the Oklahoma National Guard.
Having served as Commander and Adjutant of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 137 Garland, TX. Bill has been a DAV member for 23 years and helping veterans write VA claims for several years. Bill has a passion for Veterans. He has spent many years building relationships with organizations that assist and promote the well being of Veterans. Radio guests share patriotic and relevant topics that all Americans can benefit from.
Derrick Meis is a veteran who served active duty in the Army as a Combat Engineer. Derrick served three years before being injured stateside. After numerous unsuccessful surgeries, he was medically retired from the Army. Derrick has been married for 27 years. He and his wife have three sons and two granddaughters. Their youngest son was also in the Army as an 11 Bravo and served a tour in Afghanistan. Derrick has an associate degree in English Bible Theology and a background in the medical field as an Ultrasound Technician. He currently holds a position as treasurer for DAV chapter 137 Garland, Texas. He is also a member with the Veterans Resource Outreach Center (VROC) organization in Rowlett, Texas. He has many years of experience navigating through benefits and resources for veterans, both personally and in serving other veterans in need. Derrick has a heart for helping his fellow veterans. He looks forward to reaching out and helping every veteran in any way that he can.
