Oba William King is a published author of two Children’s Books – Firefly and Little Star, as well as

R.E.A.D. and Other Story Poems, recipient of numerous awards including the Illinois Arts Council Fellowship and The Gwendolyn Brooks Hands on Stanzas awards. His recent recordings include: I Love My People, Pull ‘em Up, Ancestors Drum, -We’re Connected and Baby In The House – Nursery Rhymes and Sing Song Poems to the rhythm of House music! He is Director of JUSTUSarts Educational Entertainment and Original M/C of Spices Jazz Bar- Chicago’s premier location for Open Mic and Spoken Word. Oba performs nationally with recent appearances at Kennedy Center for The Arts in Washington DC, GeorgeBush Presidential Library in College Station Tx, FUNGA FEST in Providence RI, Asante Children’s Theatre Indianapolis, I Nand National Association of Black Storytellers in

Philadelphia, Pa as well as International Storytelling Center in Jonesborough, TN.
